Belief Statement

"This Congregation, called by God and guided by the Holy Spirit, is working together as a caring family of believers to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ; to inspire and nurture in ourselves and others Jesus’ teachings of love, joy, and faith; to provide a comforting presence to those in need; and in all ways to seek and to make known the love of God."

Outreach Opportunities

We have a number of community service and outreach opportunities for our members and friends.

Crosslines Community Council, Inc.
City Union Mission
Those who volunteer meet on the second Thursday of every month to go and serve dinner at the Family Center in downtown Kansas City.
Ronald McDonald House
Four times a year the CWF members prepare an evening meal for those families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
Harvesters
Habititat for Humanity
Volunteers help with the building and/or renovation of area homes.

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), while founded on American soil in the early 1800s, is uniquely equipped to live up to its identity that it is a "movement for wholeness in a fragmented world." The denomination was born in the 1800s, and continues to be influenced by its founding ideals of our unity in Christ with openness and diversity in practice and belief.
